CCSC delays start of school

Posted

On Sunday, the Crawfordsville Community School Corporation announced it will delay the start of school until Aug. 9. The district was previously prepared to return to school Wednesday.

The notice sent to students and parents read: “Since the board last met in July, the school system has received guidance on health measures from multiple different federal, state and local sources. In order to fully consider all of this new guidance and its possible impact on school policies, we will be delaying the start of school for students until
Aug. 9.

“The board does plan to meet this week to make a determination on safety protocols for the start of school. The exact date and time of this week’s meeting has not been finalized. As soon as a date and time are determined, meeting details will be available on the Crawfordsville Community School Corporation website.

“We sincerely apologize for the difficulties this delay will cause some families.  Please know that we would not have taken such a drastic step unless it was absolutely necessary, but in this case the corporation needs to consider all issues associated with the return to school.”
