The Carnegie Museum of Montgomery County celebrated Pi Day on Saturday. Cool math and physics-themed demonstrations, crafts, and activities were available throughout the Carnegie Museum building courtesy of Wabash College Physics and Math Department professors and students. Guests also enjoyed a piece of pie in the lobby in honor of the day. Pi Day celebrates the mathematical constant represented by the Greek letter Pi, which signifies the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. No matter the size of the circle, the value of Pi is always the same, approximately equal to 3.14159. Pi is infinite, amazing, and part of many mathematical formulas.
