Bob Wheeler of Browns Valley shared Sunday afternoon with a drive-through parade of well wishers for his 90th birthday celebration. Wheeler, known by locals as the self-appointed Mayor of Browns Valley, retired from RR Donnelly after more than 41 years. He retired from the Indiana Army National Guard as the CSM from Crawfordsville 139th Field Artillery 3rd Battalion Crawfordsville, after serving proudly for more than 30 years of service. Wheeler and his late wife Maxine were the parents of six children. In the bottom right photo, David Lawler of Crawfordsville and a retired member of the 3rd Battalion 139th Field Artillery, Indiana Army National Guard, shares a special memory with Bob during the drive by celebration. Sunday’s celebration was a refreshing break from the stay-at-home order. Many residents said they had not been out of the house since mid-March. Birthday cards can be sent to Wheeler at 9543 S. C.R. 475W, Waveland, IN 47989.
