For the 20th consecutive year, the Crawfordsville Fire Department participated in the world’s largest fire department training conference — FDIC International — which draws more than 30,000 firefighters, paramedics, and emergency responders from across the globe to Indianapolis.
Chief officers, line officers, firefighters and paramedics from CFD served as lead presenters and instructors, participated in hands-on training (HOT) sessions, competed in paramedic skills competitions, and even provided department equipment to support training and demonstrations. Their involvement ranged from technical rescue to leadership development, showcasing CFD’s deep bench of talent and expertise.
Despite being one of the smallest nationally recognized departments, CFD continues to set the standard for excellence in public safety and emergency response. Their high level of engagement and instruction at FDIC earned the department more than $83,000 in complimentary fire and EMS training — an incredible testament to their commitment to innovation, education and community service.
The department’s continued presence and leadership at this global conference solidify Crawfordsville’s reputation as a forward-thinking community with a highly skilled emergency response team.
Kudos to Chief Scott Busenbark for his outstanding leadership and vision in guiding one of the nation’s premier fire departments.
