GREENCASTLE – As the girls did back in November, North Montgomery boys' swam against Danville and Cloverdale at Greencastle Tuesday night.

In the four-way dual, the Warriors defeated the Charges 127-47 while the Tiger Cubs also won 99-65. North Montgomery defeated the Clovers 101-12.

Danville won 11 of 12 events on the night with the other event won by Cloverdale’s Carson Hall, swimming with the Tiger Cubs, with the Chargers snagging a trio of second-place finishes on the night.

Jamason Burget finished second in the 50 free in 25.82 and the 100 backstroke in 1:06.49 while Sam Sheetz finished second in diving with a score of 117.65.

Burget was also able to get a third-place finish in the 200 free relay alongside Ben Eldridge, Caleb Cochran and Matthew Southwood in 2:01.30.

“We didn’t do too bad,” North Montgomery head coach Erin Yeager said about the quad meet. “We’ve got some little things to work on here and there.

“We saw some things we need to polish up and we’re at the point of the season we need to do those things so the gentlemen can do the best they can at sectionals. We also saw some good swims from different people and some nice time drops from some kids.

“Sam had one of his higher diving scorers tonight,’ Yeager added. “We’re making some progress as this season goes along.”

North Montgomery jumps back into the pool quickly with a meet at Seeger Thursday.

Yeager said it was a chance to fix a few things as the season begins to wind down with only two events remaining for the boys’ team ahead of sectional.

“There’s some work on turns we need to get taken care of,” she said. “There were a couple of issues that need worked on with some sets we’ll do (Wednesday) and polish them up at Thursday’s meet to see how we’re doing for the meet after that.”
