For the third consecutive year, North Montgomery’s boys’ golf team will advance to the IHSAA Regional at West Lafayette’s Coyote Crossing Golf Club.
The Chargers placed third out of out of 12 teams Frida at the Attica Sectional.
North Montgomery shot a 326 as a team led by Neal Jeffery’s 76. Other Charger scores were Beckett Martin 79, Rohen Barnes 89, Connor Koopman 89 and Isaac Hamby 82.
Southmont’s Austin Foley finished the day as the second best individual by carding a 75, just one stroke behind Tri-West medalist Blake Woodard’s score of 74.
Other Mountie scores were Cole Rhoads 94, Carter Ludlow 88, Ethan Hutchison 89 and Owen McCutchen 99.
Foley’s score allows him to advance Friday to the West Lafayette Regional.
The Mounties placed sixth as a team with a score of 346.
Crawfordsville’s Caiden Murray also will advance as an individual to the regional. Murray carded an 81.
Other Crawfordsville scores were Tanner Gilland 88, Owen Pierce 88, Jude Hurt 94 and Colton Custer 108. Crawfordsville placed seventh with a total score of 351.
Fountain Central placed in eighth place with a score of 377. Mustang scores were William Armstrong 91, Ayden Donaldson 103, Eli Foxworthy 87, Alan Blankenship 96 and Dakoda Willoughby 106.
The West Lafayette Regional tees off at 9 a.m. Friday. Teams advancing from Lafayette Jefferson, Westfield, Attica, Brebeuf and Martinsville sectionals will compete for an opportunity to advance to the June 17-18 state finals to be played at Prairie View Golf Cub in Carmel.
