Chargers snag first win over Frontier

Posted

CHALMERS — North Motgomery began what will be an extended time away from their home floor Thursday night as the Chargers traveled to take on Frontier.

Defense was the story of the night for the Chargers as they held Frontier to just 25 points en route to their first win of the season in a 35-28 victory

Katie Rice led the way with another great performance. The senior had 20 points to lead all scorers.

"Katie always finds a way to be in the righ spot," North Montgomery  Coach Ryan Nuppnau said. "Our girls out on the perimiter did a nice job of finding her down low and she did the rest. "

The Chargers were leading 38-18 with two minutes to go before calling off the dogs and sending in their bench.

"I'm proud of the way we handled their 1-3-1 pressure tonight," Nuppnau added.  Our girls have worked hard so far this season and we've had some tough opponents in our first two games, so to come out and get in the win column; they earned it."

North Montgomery will be back on the road tomorrow night as they travel to take on Attica.
