Charles “Charlie” William Ray, 92, of Crawfordsville passed away peacefully Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020, surrounded by his family.

He was born Aug. 7, 1928, to the late Charles Robert and Bessie Jon (Humpston) Ray in Speedway.

Charlie was a member of the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Crawfordsville. Over the years he worked for the Ladoga Canning Factory, did some farming, worked for the railroad, built grain bins and did finish carpentry work. He enjoyed playing pool, visiting with his neighbors, riding motorcycles and working on them in his garage, inventing and being creative, working with his hands and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by daughter Sharlie (David) See; grandsons, Matt, Scott and Brett See; granddaughter Brittney (Ryan) Robinson; and three great-grandchildren, Malia, Aislynn and Kalluhm. Other family includes, Dusty Rhodes, Ted Ray (Patti) and Sheila (Mike) McCormick.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Charles William Ray II; and siblings, Joseph Ray, Jean Carrington, JoAnn McClellan, Robert Ray and Betty Dillman.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 30 at Ladoga Cemetery, Ladoga, with Father Bower officiating. Servies & Morgan Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
