Charles E. Sparks, 73, of Crawfordsville passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020, at home, while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 4, 1947, at Lebanon, to the late Delbert and Vessie (Purdue) Sparks.
Charles attended New Ross schools and married the love of his life, Vickie Largent, on Oct. 21, 1966, who survives. Throughout the years he worked at Hyster’s for over 20 years and Hi-Tek for 25 years. He enjoyed traveling, listening to country music, racing go-carts and working on cars and semis.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vickie; two sons, Charles (Diana) Sparks Jr. and John (Dana) Sparks; brother Layton (Sharon) Sparks; two sisters-in-law, Mary Sparks and Cindy Sparks; three grandchildren, Mindy Sparks, Calea Sparks and Casey Sparks; two great-grandchildren, Cameron Hurt and Gavin Sparks; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Roscoe Purdue, Morris Sparks, Earl Sparks and Adrian Sparks; and sister Virginia (Norman) Templeton.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 2 at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville. The funeral with be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill North Cemetery.
