Charles Fredrick Stevens, 79, of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020, at Rose Walk Village, Lafayette.
He was born Aug. 23, 1940, at Indianapolis, to William and Celia (Anderson) Stevens.
Charles graduated from Washington High School in Indianapolis and married Ellen (Liford) Stevens, after being married for 25 years they divorced. He then married Ruby Stevens of Chesapeake, Virginia, who preceded him in death.
He worked on the assembly line at Ford Motor Company for 30 years, starting in Indianapolis and then transferring to Norfolk, Virginia. He enjoyed running, golfing, the Indy 500 and loved gardening and lawn care. He was a deacon at the Indian River Baptist Church in Chesapeake.
He is survived by daughter Lorri Stevens of Crawfordsville; son Gregg Stevens of Jacksonville, Florida; brothers, William Stevens of Indianapolis and Joseph (Linda) Stevens of Florida; four grandchildren, Kerri Edwards, Kayla Stevens, Noah Stevens and Sydney Stevens; and three great-grandchildren, Laine, Kenley and Jaron Hayes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Ellen and Ruby; eldest son Rick Stevens; and an infant sister.
There will be a private family service on Saturday, March 28 at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 W. Washington St., Crawfordsville. Burial will follow at Oak Hill North Cemetery.
