Charles R. Morrow, 85 of Tangier went to be with his Lord on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020, at 8:40 p.m. at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice in Terre Haute.

He was born July 9, 1935, at Iowa City, Iowa, to the late Ray and Mary (Benefiel) Morrow. On Aug. 21, 1954, he married Nancy Erwin, who he lost to cancer in 1988. He then married Elizabeth “Liz” Barnhart on Aug. 18, 1990, who survives.

Charles was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rockville before joining Mt. Hermon Bible Church in Howard. He retired from and worked at Ford Motor Company for 31 years. He then worked for John Deere in Rockville as a mechanic for 20 years and worked till he was 75 years old. He was an amazing, very meticulous man, full of life, fun loving and touched many hearts with his smile and laughter. He helped anyone who needed him and genuinely cared for everyone. He loved his God and loved spending time with his family, friends, and church family. He never met a stranger, loved his home, and loved working in his garden and enjoyed puttering around in his pole shed. He was proud of his community and always told everyone what an amazing community he lived in. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by everyone.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Elizabeth of Tangier; son David (Judy) Morrow of Crown Point; daughter Brenda (Gene) Ruark of Tangier; four grandchildren, Jamie (Tom) Adams and Brad (Grace) Morrow, both of Chandler, Arizona, Sarah Ruark of Tangier and Josh (Brandie) Ruark of Rockville; nine great-grandchildren, Isabella, Nolan, Libby, Louella, Brayden, Ronan, Jorden, Kristen and Skylar; four siblings, Gerald (Norma) Morrow, Paul “Warren” (Carol) Morrow, Donna McMillian and Keith (Julie) Morrow, all from Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Nancy; five brothers, Donnie Morrow, Larry Morrow, Doug “Butch” Morrow and an infant brother; and sister Norma Steffes.

Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S. First, Kingman on Friday, Oct. 30 from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Jon McLain officiating. The family request that guests wear a mask and practice social distancing. The service will be live streamed and recorded and can be viewed on Charle’s obituary page on www.sandersfuneralcare.com. A private family graveside service will follow at West Union Cemetery.
