HILLSBORO — The Harmony Theater, formerly Myers Dinner Theatre, brings the nostalgic classic “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” to the stage.
This family-friendly musical is based on the comic strip “Peanuts” by Charles M. Schulz with book, music and lyrics by Clark Gesner; additional dialogue by Michael Mayer and additional music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.
“You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” is directed by James Stover and plays at the Harmony Theater opening Friday and continuing through May 24.
With charm, wit, and heart, “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” explores life through the eyes of Charlie Brown and his friends in the “Peanuts” gang. Musical numbers include “My Blanket and Me,” “The Kite,” “The Baseball Game,” “Little Known Facts,” “Suppertime” and “Happiness.”
This production is geared for audiences of all ages.
Returning alumni to this production are DRae Beller (as Sally Brown), Rebecca Lea (as Lucy Van Pelt) and Austin Michael Russell (as Schroeder). New to the Harmony stage are Xander Haan (as Linus Van Pelt), Noah Johnson (as Charlie Brown) and Grace Whetstone (as Snoopy).
“You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” will feature a food menu filled with traditional favorites. Selections will include meatloaf, pork chops, crispy chicken, cheesy potatoes, glazed carrots, buttered peas, creamy corn and succotash; for dessert, strawberry pretzel salad, apple cobbler and brownies. As usual, all meals will begin with house salad, fresh-baked homemade rolls and the signature broccoli salad — a tradition passed down by Richard and Donna Myers.
For this production, the theater will offer special children’s pricing: ages 4-9, $25, ages 10-12, $28. Ticket includes admission to the show and children’s menu line in addition to the regular adult buffet. Selections will include chicken nuggets, pizza, applesauce and fruit cups. Student and group pricing is also available.

For certain performance days, meal and show times will be changing for 2025. Wednesday matinee seating for meals will remain at 11:30 a.m. with curtain at 1:30 p.m. Friday and selected Saturday evening
performances will now have seating for meals at 5:30 p.m. with curtain at 7:30 p.m. Saturday matinees will have seating for meals at 11:30 a.m. with curtain at 1:30 p.m. Sunday matinees will still have seating for meals at noon and curtain at 2 p.m.
Performance dates and times can vary, so consult the online calendar for updated information. Regular theater prices are $59.54 for dinner and show, $47.50 for young adults (ages 13-18), and show-only for $39.50. Prices do not include taxes, handling fees or gratuity for waitstaff. Season tickets, group pricing and bus parking are also available.
