Church plans youth conference

Crawfordsville Youth for Christ will host the Compassion of Christ Youth Conference on Sept. 10 at First Assembly, 2070 Lebanon Road, Crawfordsville. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.

Based on Matthew 14:14, Jesus was moved with compassion. Compassion is empathy in action.

“As we all know there is a lot of discouragement and despair among our teens in this community,” organizers stated in a press release. “This is our action. We will address the four key issues surrounding teens today — addictions, sex, anxiety/depression and cutting.”

The conference will include guest speakers, food and a concert.

“We must be on purpose on reaching the younger generation,” organizers added.

Psalm 78:4: “We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.”

This event is hosted by Crawfordsville First Assembly youth pastors Anthony and Michelle LeBlanc. They have served as youth pastors for more than three years and have a strong passion for the youth and young adults in the community. They share the unconditional love of Christ by loving the youth no matter race, background or what stage they are in life.
