The Montgomery County Civic Band will perform its patriotic playlist at 3 p.m. Sunday in the gazebo at Lane Place.

“This concert is mine and the band’s favorite concert of the season,” said Gary Ketchum, band director.

As always the band will open the concert with the playing of the “Star Spangled Banner.” They will then play the “National Emblem March” by Edwin Eugene Bagley and “American Flourish” by Robert W. Smith. Concert-goers will then hear “Firetower,” by Mike Forbes.

Ketchum said concert-goers also will enjoy “This is My Country,” arranged by Jerry Brubaker, “God Bless America” and the “Armed Forces Salute,” which is a tribute to the five branches of the U.S. military.

The band will wind down with the playing of “America the Beautiful.”

Sunday’s hour-long concert will end the same way as they all do with children having the opportunity to direct the band during “Stars and Stripes Forever.”

Concert-goers are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Free-will donations will be accepted.

Ketchum also is planning a small surprise for those in attend this concert.
