Cleaning supplies sought for flood victims

A donation trailer for Waverly, Tennessee flood victims will be available beginning at
8 a.m. today at the former Save-a-lot parking lot, 451 E. South Blvd.

Organizers said the small area of Waverly has been devastated by floodwaters and is in desperate need of cleaning supplies.

“Our goal is to fill the 53-foot trailer with nothing but love for our fellow man,” the press release stated.

Donations will be accepted through 8 a.m. Sept. 1.

Volunteers are needed to sit at the trailer site and help with donations. Available time slots are 8 a.m. to noon; noon to 4 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. today through Tuesday.

Needed supplies include: water (bottled or gallons), large plastic totes, cleaning supplies (bleach, window cleaner, paper towel), masks, shovels, gloves, mops, brooms or 5-gallon flood relief buckets filled with a devotional, paper towels, disposable rags, glass cleaner, cleaning powder, liquid cleaner, bleach, scrub brushes, two pair of rubber gloves and sponges.
