Clifton Ray York, 86, of New Market passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, at Ben Hur Health and Rehabilitation.
Clifton was born March 7, 1934, at Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to the late Herbert James and Lois Delno (McCarter) York. Clifton married the love of his life Dimple Geraldine Gentry on Oct. 25, 1954, in Tennessee. Throughout the years, he worked as a truck driver and at Mid-States Steel and Wire. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, flea markets and drinking coffee with his friends. He was a lifetime member of the Handy Man Club.
He is survived by his wife, Dimple; three sons, Joe (Liz), Roger (Robin) and Steve (Jennifer) York; three daughters, Mary Morrison, Susan Korte and Tammy Neier; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Meghan, Kalen, Ethan, Rachel, Michael, Cory and Justin; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ernie and Hershel York; sister Margaret Osborne; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, James, Roy and Harrison York; sister Reba Coons; grandson Sean York; and three sons-in-law, Buck Morrison, Paul Korte and Jim Neier.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20 at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville. The service will be live streamed and recorded, which can be viewed on Clifton’s obituary page at www.sandersfuneralcare.com.
