Montgomery County Commissioners accepted the one bid received for improving ADA access to the Thomas K. Milligan Justice Center at their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday.
The $293,000 bid was from JR Kelly Company from Lafayette.
The work includes exterior work to make an entrance into the building more accessible. The project is part of the county’s ongoing ADA improvement master plan.
Work on the project will begin as soon as possible said Building Administrator Marc Bonwell.
The county has been awarded a $450,000 Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs for an owner-occupied rehabilitation program. Commissioners approved a memorandum of understanding with Thrive West Central for administration and program implementation.
Commissioners received one cash rent bid for 24.6 tillable acres. The bid was for $233 per acre. Commissioners must now release the bid amount for potential other bidders. Terms of the lease is for three years.
In other business, commissioners approved the second reading of an ordinance to amend the speed limit on C.R. 500N between Darlington town limits and S.R. 47.
The next comissioners’ meeting is 8 a.m. Nov. 25 at the Montgomery County Government Center.
