The Crawfordsville Police Department is investigating a bomb threat to the McDonald’s location on the north end of Crawfordsville on Monday evening.

According to Crawfordsville Police Chief Mike Norman, at approximately 6:20 p.m. Monday police were notified of a bomb threat called to McDonald’s North, 1000 Smith Avenue. The building was evacuated, and the Purdue University bomb squad and bomb K9 was contacted to conduct a search of the building.

“They cleared the building and found nothing,” Norman said.

The building was cleared by 7:45 p.m., but McDonald’s North was expected to remain closed overnight and reopen Tuesday morning.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dectective Lt. David Long at 765-362-3762, Ext. 217.
