Crawfordsville Police Department is renewing its contract with a local information technology provider.

The department has signed a new agreement with Edge Information Technology Solutions for computer-related services. The contract received approval Wednesday from the city’s Board of Public Works and Safety.

The monthly cost will increase by $300 to $2,300 under the terms of the agreement. The contract was last updated in 2009.

“We’re happy with the service they provide us,” Police Chief Aaron Mattingly said.

The board also approved a work agreement with Price Excavating in the amount of $277,800 for a sewer line extension under U.S. 231 South. The extension will allow Crawfordsville Veterinary Clinic to hook up its new facility currently under construction.

Price was the lowest bidder awarded the project in March.

In other business, the board:

• Approved a request from Lyn Wray to place two large storage containers at 904 W. Main St. for three days beginning Aug. 27.

• Approved requests from Donna Eppert to place a dumpster at 903 Sloan St. for 10 days beginning Aug. 4, and from Kevin Nguyen to place a dumpster at 703 S. Green St. from Aug. 9-16.

• Approved a request from Code Enforcement Officer Barry Lewis for the street department to mow the property at 208 Dubois Ave. owned by Josh Boaz. The property is empty and up for sale, Lewis said.
