Craig Alan Asher, 58, of Roachdale passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2024.
He was born to Virgil W. Asher and Patricia Shinn Asher on April 30, 1966. He attended North Putnam High School and was a 1985 graduate.
Craig was the “go-to” guy at Asher’s Tire for over 39 years. He loved what he did and he loved his customers. He was always there for them night or day, rain or snow, even in 100 degree weather.
He loved his children, Mason and Morgan, more than anything in the world. He was very proud of them and never hesitated to tell anyone about them. His love for them showed through in everything he did. Connor, Mason’s girlfriend, was like a second daughter to him for the past seven years and he loved her like his own.
He loved golfing and Wabash/DePauw sporting events where his children attended college. He recently started playing pickleball and loved playing with his friend Troy. He loved going to the casinos with his kids and friends and he loved all things sports-related. He especially loved sports betting and talked about it with anyone who would listen. He enjoyed mushroom hunting and fishing with his brothers and father. He spent his weekends with the people he loved including his “The Gang’s All Here” friend group. He was the life of the party and had many catchphrases that we will all be saying for years to come.
He is survived by son Mason Asher (Connor Royer); daughter Morgan Asher; best friend and former wife, Jeana Asher Kiger; and Dorene Walden, mother-in-law who thought of him as a son. He is also survived by three brothers, Mike (Sheila) Asher, Randy (Kathy) Asher and Danny (Cindy) Asher; half-brother Bill (Debbie) Asher; two sisters, Brenda (Mike) Rice and Janet Mason; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Michelle and Alan Goff, Krista and Terry Henning, Jill Walden and Mike Walden. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews; along with Connor’s parents, Brad and Shail Royer, and Connor’s sister, Jamison Royer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil; mother Patricia; step-father Fred King; father-in-law, Leighton Kay Walden; and several aunts and uncles.
