The Crawfordsville Commanders, the city’s newest professional basketball team, are proud to announce open tryouts for the upcoming 2026 season. This event marks the beginning of a new era for basketball in Crawfordsville and offers talented athletes the opportunity to compete at the professional level.
Tryouts will be 4-7 p.m. July 6 at The Laurel Flats, 201 E. Jefferson St.
There is a non-refundable registration fee of $75. Bring a valid government-issued ID, workout gear, basketball shoes, basketball, water bottle and a winning attitude.
Players will be evaluated on skill, athleticism, teamwork and professionalism by the Commanders coaching staff and front office. Those who impress will be invited to join the team for its inaugural season.
Prospective players must be at least 18 years of age.
“We’re looking for passionate, driven athletes ready to represent Crawfordsville with pride and determination,” said Eric Vaughan, founding member of the Commanders.
“This tryout is more than just a shot at making the team — it’s a chance to become a part of history.”
The Commanders are committed to building a competitive team and a strong community presence. They are a professional men’s basketball team built on passion, performance and purpose.
“We are more than just a team — we are a movement to bring high-caliber basketball to the heart of Montgomery County and inspire a new generation of fans, athletes, and leaders,” Vaughan added.
