“This year especially we have had an incredible group of partnerships that have really stepped up to create impactful CTE experiences for our students. We could not have asked for a better group and quite frankly some of our programs would not have been possible without them,” Nicodemus said.

Local organizations recognized for their Partner in CTE Awards included: AHW LLC, JTR Repair, Pace Dairy, Montgomery County Health Department and Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville.

Nicodemus handed out two special awards including Rookie of the Year instructor to Jeff Harp of North Montgomery for his exceptional contribution to his students and the new welding program.

This year’s West Central Indiana CTE Director’s Award was given to Southmont senior Riley Woodall for his professionalism, dedication and leadership in the Radio/TV program.

The award recognizes a student who showcased exceptional CTE student who demonstrated innovation in the classroom, commitment to their program and dedication to the improvement of industry skills.

Radio/TV instructor Matt Foxworthy said Woodall was “a wonderful ambassador for Career & Technical Education, and our program specifically.”

“He is not only a state qualifying athlete, but is employed and responsible for training and mentoring other employees. When arriving to an event this fall, the student came with pages and pages of prep, which even impressed the mentor they were working with. This individual is a true model student,” Foxworthy said.
