Camp Milligan participants made a trip Thursday to Runyan Farm near Waynetown. There they visited several stations manned by members of the Montgomery County 4-H Junior Livestock Board — Gerald Hutson (Chickens), Mady Bush, (Boer Goats), Kelsey Thompson (Sheep), Jenna Bushong (Dairy Heifer) and Morgan Swick (Swine) — and learned about each animal species. Other volunteers included Brent Runyan (Tractors), Megan Fruits, (Llamas), Lori Bushong (Miniature Horse) and Carrie Runyan (Dairy Goats.) Camp Milligan is a new day camp for children ages 5-12 and is a partnership between the Montgomery County Early Childhood Coalition and the Crawfordsville Parks & Recreation Department. The 10-week program was launched in an effort to help address the shortage of high quality care providers for school age children during non-school times.
