Curtain up for Play On! at CHS

Crawfordsville High School will present Play On!, a comedy directed by Lisa Warren, running today through Sunday at the Connie L. Meek Auditorium.

Play On! is a comedy about the chaos behind the curtain, giving audiences a rare glimpse into the unpredictable world of theater production. This “play within a play” follows a troupe of actors grappling with constant script changes from an overzealous playwright. Act One features a frazzled rehearsal, Act Two escalates into a chaotic dress rehearsal, and Act Three unveils the unpredictable chaos of opening night.

The cast includes Hutton Haas (Gerry), Collin Simpson (Saul), Hannah Barnes (Violet), Tryston Sauer (Billy), Katherine Novak (Polly), Nick Kvacochkof (Henry), Addison James (Smitty), Liz Ellingwood (Aggie), Zoe Abbott (Phyllis) and Chloee Bean (Louise). Joining the production team are Jennie Swick (sound), Renae Tebbe (lights) and Emily Daily and Emily Race (stage managers).

“This production offers a unique perspective on the rehearsal process, showcasing the mishaps and mayhem that often occur behind the scenes,” said director Lisa Warren. “It’s a show for everyone, but those with theater experience will find it especially relatable — and even discover a few hidden references to my past productions!”

Performances are 7 p.m. today and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets can be purchased online at https://cur8.com/18438/project/126414.
