The members of the Daughters of the American Revolution organization recognized the winners of their essay contest and their Good Citizen in a special ceremony held April 16 at the Parke County fairgrounds meeting room. Grade winners in the essay contest were fifth grade, Carleigh Craycraft of Turkey Run Elementary and seventh grade, Hallie Miller of Parke Heritage Middle School. Craycraft’s essay placed first at the state level and Miller’s placed second. The essay topic was ”The Boston Massacre.” Jillian Gregg, Parke Heritage High School senior, was also recognized for being selected as the PHHS Good Citizen Award Winner. She was named the county winner. Hallie is the daughter of Matt and Melanie Miller of Tangier, Carleigh is the daughter of Brad and Danika Craycraft of Bloomingdale and Jillian is the daughter of Brad and Samantha Gregg of Marshall.
