David “Dave” George Timpany Sr., 83, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away May 19, 2022.
Dave was born in Scituate, Massachusetts, to Fred and Gertrude Timpany. After high school graduation in 1956, Dave joined the Air Force and was stationed in Illinois working as an instructor of aircraft and missile electrical systems. Dave married Mary Jane Kendricks in 1958. He was employed by RR Donnelley & Sons — both in Crawfordsville and Glasgow, Kentucky. Dave was a talented wood craftsman throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and dabbling in various hobbies.
Dave is survived by his wife, Mary Lane Timpany, of Cleveland, Tennessee; sister Linda Plasse of Abington, Massachusetts; daughters, Kim (Earl) Crews of Glasgow, Kentucky, and Patty (Greg) Witty of Alvaton, Kentucky; son David (Holly) Timpany Jr. of Crawfordsville; step-son Jon Coppinger of Cleveland, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kyle (Amanda) Crews, Alex Witty, Channing Dixon and Eliza Witty; and brothers-in-law, Charles and Ron (Donna) Kendricks of Crawfordsville.
He was preceded in passing by his first wife, Mary Jane Timpany, and daughter Sherry Timpany of Crawfordsville.
Cremation was chosen. Dave’s ashes will be placed at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Crawfordsville.
