David Lee Dale, 75, of Darlington passed away Friday, July 3, 2020, at home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Dec. 8, 1944, at Crawfordsville, to the late Albert “Ab” Leroy and Agnes “Aggie” (Loudermill) Dale.

Dave graduated from Darlington High School and proudly served his country in the United States National Guard. On Oct. 21, 1989, he married Linda Runion, who survives.

Throughout the years he worked at many factories and worked as a custodian at Tuttle Middle School and Sugar Creek Elementary School. He loved Nascar, his favorite driver being Richard Petty. He enjoyed watching football, going fishing and camping, loved his animals, was very patriotic and loved watching westerns and was a fan of John Wayne.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Linda of Darlington; six children, Tracy (Tom) Crane of Crawfordsville, Ricky (Karen) Dale of Crawfordsville, Kandace (Harold) Domineck of Georgia, Danny Douglass of Thorntown, Steven (Michelle) Covault of Crawfordsville and Richard (Cherish) Covault of New Ross; brother Donald (Glenda) Dale of Darlington; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Dick Dale; and great-granddaughter Marley Simms.

Cremation was chosen with a graveside service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at 3 p.m., with Ron Threlkeld officiating and military honors by the Army National Guard and the Byron Cox Post 72 Honor Guard. Sanders Priebe Funeral Care entrusted with care.
