David Leon Foster, 94, of Noblesville and formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, at Five Star Senior Living in Noblesville.
He was born April 4, 1928, at Darlington, to the late D. Elmer and Ruth W. (Seybold) Foster.
David graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1946 and on Jan. 9, 1948, he married Donna L. Coval, who preceded him in death March 18, 2019.
David worked at RR Donnelley’s for 44 years as a photo engraver before retiring in 1990. He was a member of Eagles 1005, Elks Club, Moose and Masonic Lodge #50. He enjoyed tinkering, old antique cars, dancing, gardening, taking walks in the woods, sitting with his dog and was quite the artist.
He is survived by two sons, Robert (Kathy) Foster of Noblesville and Bruce (Dawn) Foster of Franklinton, North Carolina; daughter Paula (Michael) Caldwell of Sellersburg; two sisters, Mary Lou Henry of Crawfordsville and Pat Yount of Peoria, Illinois; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Donna; brothers, Robert G. Foster and Don Foster; and two sisters, Donnis Heath and Lucille Shahan.
Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon. The service will be live-streamed and recorded which can be viewed on his obituary page at www.sandersfuneralcare.com. Entombment will follow at Oak Hill Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County, 1104 Big Four Arch Road, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
