‘Dining with the Chefs’ goes virtual

The Dr. Mary Ludwig Montgomery County Free Clinic has announced that its “Dining with the Chefs: At Home Edition” fundraiser will debut on You Tube at 6 p.m. Aug. 8.

The goal this year is to establish the new Doemel Extended Services Fund — named after former executive director Dr. William Doemel — which will provide funds allowing patients to receive services that our staff and volunteer health care professionals cannot provide. The clinic’s fundraising goal is $35,000. More than $6,000 has already been contributed by local sponsors.

The online event can be accessed through links on the clinic’s website (Support the Clinic at Dining with the Chefs) and Facebook page. It features four local chefs: Dr. Richard Warner, Wabash College; Lali Hess, owner of the Juniper Spoon; Jason Alexander, Bon Appetit; and Hannah Thompson, owner of Maxine’s on Green and the newly-appointed chef at the Crawfordsville Country Club.

Each chef will prepare a different recipe that can be prepared at home with simple local ingredients. Kay Nannet, NP, executive director of the clinic, will be on hand to share information about the clinic’s mission during the public health crisis. Chuck Ranspach of local advertising company Blue Marketing volunteered to film the participants and produce the event.
