Donald Lee “Cobb” Hartlep, 64, of Crawfordsville passed away unexpectedly in his home, Tuesday, June 8, 2021.

Cobb was born May 5, 1957, to the late Ardie Hartlep and Phyllis McCoskey Hartlep, who survives.

He was raised in Pine Village and attended Seeger Memorial High School. He was employed many years in concrete construction and was a member of the union. He moved from Pine Village to Crawfordsville in 2000 and was employed by Raybestos Powertrain as a line worker.

Cobb will forever be remembered for his one of a kind infectious laugh and his amazing recipe for potato soup that no one could ever really replicate. He was an avid IU basketball fan, enjoyed vintage cars, Harley Davidson motorcycles and Colts football. But most of all he loved his family, his daughters and his grandsons.

Surviving are: his mother, Phyllis Hartlep of Pine Village; two daughters, Bri (Kyle) Proctor of Waynetown and Hanna Hartlep of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Debbie Constable of Pine Village and Ellen Burton of Illinois; four grandsons, Cale Anderson, Jackson Melvin and Camden Proctor, all of Waynetown, and Konner Hartlep of Crawfordsville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ardie.

Cobb’s family will greet guests 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 16 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate, 9700 N. State Road 55. Celebration of life service will follow immediately at 7 p.m. Cobb’s family requests his friends come prepared to share interesting stories at the service.
