Donald P. Carpenter of Crawfordsville passed away Tuesday morning, Aug. 24, 2021. He was 74.
Don was a buyer for Thrifty Supply and later became manager. He also worked as a buyer for Pace Dairy when it opened and later worked maintenance and as a supervisor. He also worked as a buyer for Dari-Licious. He enjoyed woodworking, reading and liked to tinker and fix things. He attended First United Methodist Church.
Born April 6, 1947, near Colfax, he was the son of Ralph Carpenter and Nelda Carpenter. He graduated from Darlington High School in 1965. On July 2, 1967, he married Janet Lusman. She survives.
Surviving family includes: wife Janet Carpenter; son Chris (Debbie) Carpenter; grandson Daniel Carpenter; and five brothers, Jack Carpenter, Bill (Nancy) Carpenter, Harold (Linda) Carpenter, Jim (Barb) Carpenter and Kenneth (Terri) Carpenter.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27 at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Ave., with a memorial service starting at 4 p.m.
