Doris Ann Campbell Vaught passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 5, in her home. She was 91 years old.

Doris was born Oct. 31, 1929, the youngest of five children to Carl “Red” Campbell and Wilda Budd Campbell in Crawfordsville.

Doris married John I. Vaught on Aug. 2, 1946, at Darlington. John and Doris spent 25 of their 67 years of marriage living blissfully at Lake Holiday. Their children and grandchildren truly enjoyed summers at grandma and grandpas on the lake.

Doris worked for Bell Telephone, Golden Rule clothing store and Dari-Licious. In her spare time she loved playing Bingo and Bridge, and flower gardening. Her greatest enjoyment in life was being with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Survivors include: three children, Larry (Lenice) Vaught and Jacci Boone, both of Crawfordsville, and Jan (David) Vice of Ladoga; six grandchildren, Vanessa (Rich) Stadler, Nick (Kathy) Vaught, Aaron (Cami) Vaught, Bryana Pierce, Carlie (Brent) Oakley and Elliot (Margaret) Vice; and seven great-grandchildren, Severin and Sullivan Stadler, Kelly Hayes, Theodore Vaught, Meryn and Gage Oakley and Emilia Vice. She is also survived by brother Don Campbell Sr. of Crofton, Kentucky.

Doris was preceded in death by two sisters, LaVee Douglas and Clytus Murray; and brother Carl “Nick” Campbell.

Services will be private, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
