The Montgomery County Civitan Club announced Sam Doty as the first-ever recipient of the Montgomery County Civitan Club Scholarship. He will be attending BYU-Idaho in the fall to pursue a degree in music therapy. Sam’s life experiences, motivation to overcome adversity and drive toward future goals made him a great candidate for this award.

Montgomery County Civitan Club is an international organization of volunteer service clubs that serve all over the world. The Montgomery County Chapter is a small club, but dedicated to helping people wherever the need arises in the community. We have hosted several special needs proms, organized a paper product drive for the local Family Crisis Shelter, sent summer gift bags to the local group homes, hosted a fun day out at Oak Hill Farm for individuals who live at local group homes, volunteer annually at the Special Olympics, offer annually the Montgomery County Civitan Club Scholarship and many more projects.

The club is always looking for nominations for their young hero award. Applications may be found on our Facebook page or via email. The club is also currently looking for service opportunities for the upcoming fall and winter seasons, as well as individuals that would like to join our club. Please contact montgomerycountycivitan@gmail.com for more information or find us on Facebook as “Montgomery County Civitan.”
