Dwayne Edwin Harris, 73, of Crawfordsville passed away Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020, at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville.
He was born July 7, 1947, at Crawfordsville, to the late Delmar Edwin and Virginia Juliet (Parks) Harris.
Dwayne attended Alamo schools and graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1967. On April 12, 1969, he married Phyllis Elaine Schumann. She preceded him in death July 14, 1979. He later married Catherine Ann Sarver on Feb. 14, 1981, at Yountsville Community Church.
He retired from RR Donnelleys after 41 years. He was a member of Yountsville Community Church where he was very involved. Dwayne was a go getter and a very hard worker. He enjoyed mowing the yard, car races, golf, scuba diving and canoeing. He loved watching Ninja Warrior, and even joked that if he was younger he would be able to be on the show. He loved people and never knew a stranger. He made sure that everyone was smiling and had a beautiful smile himself.
Dwayne is survived by his wife; son Michael Harris; two daughters, Heather Hole and Trinette (Gabriel Thompson) Bush; five grandchildren, Matthew, Chasie, Adrianna, JJ and Olivia; four great-grandchildren, Bentley, Sylvia, Lincoln and Sophia; two sisters, Susanna Flint and Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Betty Norman and Beth (Gary) Jeffers; brother-in-law David Sarver; and several nieces and nephews.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents; sister Jeanne Fry; and brother Derald Harris.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20 at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville. Pastor Duane Abston will officiate. Burial will follow at New Ross Cemetery. Sanders Priebe Funeral Care entrusted with care.
