Surrounded by his family, Edwin L. Hoffa Jr., 84, a lifelong resident of Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020. He will be missed by his devoted wife Tonia and his family. He was born Dec. 1, 1935, to the late Kate Norton Hoffa and Edwin Lee Hoffa Sr.

On June 9, 1956, he married Tonia Lee Stewart, and she survives. Ed graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1954 and retired after 35 years from RR Donnelly & Sons in 1996. Ed and Tonia are active members of the Woodland Heights Cristian Church, where Ed served as an elder and Sunday school teacher.

After retirement, Ed enjoyed woodworking, gardening and relaxing by the pool with family, friends and especially his grandchildren. He was also an avid reader and loved to laugh, sing and dance with his wife of 63 years. He and his wife enjoyed a yearly trip to Las Vegas for 25 years with friends.

He is survived by two daughters, Bambi (David) Bond, Rockville, and Elizabeth (James) Cooper, Arlington, Virginia; son Edwin L. Hoffa III, Walton, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jeremiah Pruett, Rebekah O’Brien, Hanna Owens, Margaret Cooper, Samuel Cooper, Tyler Mercer, Claire Garrard, Lizzie Brightwell and Edwin L. Hoffa IV; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Kate; and his sisters, Phyllis Hoffa Miller and Rebecca Hoffa.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 15 at Woodland Heights Christian Church, with funeral services after the visitation. Pastor Steve Wilke will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North. Hunt & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.

Memorial contributions in Ed’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Montgomery County Community Foundation.
