Elaine Mary Rose, 97, of Roachdale passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, at the Village of Avon.
Elaine was born July 11, 1927, at St. Charles, Illinois, to the late George and Nellie (Curtis) Dildine.
On Oct. 5, 1946, at Aurora, Illinois, Elaine married Earl G. Rose. They moved to the family farm in Putnam County, Indiana in 1959, where they raised the family of four sons. Their home was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay or just to enjoy a delicious meal at the many family gatherings and hog roasts at the farm. Their family and friends were always welcome to attend.
Elaine was active in many organizations, Fincastle Country Club, Fincastle Canasta Club, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, and by volunteering wherever she was needed.
Survivors include: sons, Raymond (Diana) Rose, Richard (Shirley) Rose and Ronald (Maryann) Rose; daughter-in-law Pam Rose; grandchildren, Brad Rose, Jamie and Michael Nees, Wendy and Mike McCain, Brian and Shawnna Rose, Jessica and Matt Dempsey and Matt Rose and Misty Rose; great-grandchildren, Skyler Rose, Tara and Caleb Andracki, Erika and Elijah Elmore, Sierra Rose, Kelsey Nees, Jarrett Rose, Jolee White, Michaela Nees, Brayton Rose and Haley Rose, Koleton Dempsey and Andrea Nees; and great-great-grandchildren, Eliana Elmore, Scarlett Rose, Lainey Andracki and Braxton Rose.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Earl G. Rose; son Michael Rose; daughter-in-law Rose Rose; and great-grandson Andrew Nees.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at Servies & Morgan Funeral and Cremation Services, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale, with Pastor Kelly Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Blakesburg Cemetery in Fincastle. Friends and family may visit from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home on Monday, Nov. 11.
