Eric “Dirt” Alan Sandusky, 48, of Crawfordsville passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021, at home. 

He was born May 11, 1973, at Crawfordsville, to Fred Alan Sandusky and Charlotte Jean Kruckow. 

Eric graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1991. Throughout the years, he was a tattoo artist and started at Mind’s Eye in Crawfordsville, then moved to Hollywood, California and tattooed several famous people, Steve-O, Brittany Spears, Kelley Clarkson, to name a few and worked in several tattoo shops in Indianapolis and Lafayette and then returned home back to Mind’s Eye in Crawfordsville. He played in many bands (Society 1, HateSong and 3 Headed Snake) as a bassist and toured throughout the United States and Europe. He was a fun-loving guy and just a big teddy bear. 

He leaves behind his mother, Charlotte; sister Jennifer (Brian Pursell) Bentley; brother Travis (Elia) Kruckow; niece Elyssa Bentley; his aunts and cousins; his band members; and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred; his paternal grandparents, Jim and Ethel Sandusky; and his maternal grandparents, Gerald and Patricia Hall.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, on Saturday, May 22 from noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Mike Nickle officiating. The service will be live-streamed and recorded which can be viewed on his obituary page at www.sandersfuneralcar.e.com. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
