Eric Lee Cochran, 58, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at noon Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, at his home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
Eric was born Aug. 27, 1962 in Xenia, Ohio, the son of David and Glenda (Slavens) Cochran, the third of six children.
He graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1981. He attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia before accepting a position at Raybestos. Eric continued his leadership career as a superintendent of manufacturing at ACC in Sterling Heights, Michigan from 1995-2000. He continued his career by accepting the job as Director of Manufacturing at Sika in Grandview, Missouri from 2000-2007. Eric took his leadership and business skills and started up his own company, Integrity Management group LLC, owning and managing rental properties. As life sometimes leads you down different paths, in 2007 Eric began a new direction selling insurance for American Income Life (AIL). In December of 2009, Eric accepted the position as Iowa State Director for AIL, until ending his 10-year career with AIL. He took on a temporary job as Supervisor for the Automotive Department at Walmart before learning of his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. His strength, courage and determination afforded him 19 months with his family.
Eric was a member of Abundant Life Church. He enjoyed working outdoors at his log cabin home and watching spectator sports, especially football. He loved his family and was ready and willing to help anyone in need.
Eric was preceded in death by his father, David Cochran.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lori Jean (Stewart) Cochran of the home; his mother, Glenda M. (Slavens) Cochran of Crawfordsville; sons, Jonathan Robert (Courtney) Cochran of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Cory Mayne Cochran of Westminster, Colorado; daughter Anna Constance Cochran of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; one grandchild, Adelle Lynn Cochran; siblings, Tammy (Steve) Schopf of Bondurant, Iowa, Bruce (Pam) Cochran of Greensburg, Shelly (Greg) Hunt of Avon, Amy (Edward) Phillips of Crawfordsville and Howard (Beth) Cochran of Crawfordsville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
The family of Eric Lee Cochran will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19 at the Wallace Funeral Home, 422 N. Lake St., Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Bill Boren officiating. Casket bearers will be Bruce Cochran, Howard Cochran, Jonathan Cochran, Cory Cochran, Kody Kramme and Jordan Kness. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
