Eric Lee Risner, 56, of Wingate passed away at 4:55 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in his home surrounded by family following a battle with cancer. 

Eric was born June 25, 1967, at Lafayette, son Linda Kay White Curry and the late Jerry Lee Risner. He married Gina Todd on Aug. 22, 2007, at Crawfordsville, and she survives. 

Eric attended North Montgomery High School and for the past seven years was employed as a garage mechanic for Harrison Steel Castings, Attica. He was previously employed by Banjo in Crawfordsville and Pipher’s Garage in Wingate.

Eric loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and racing (anything fast!) and AC/DC. 

Surviving, along with his wife Gina, are: son Brett (Chelsea) Risner of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Amber (Garrett) Johnston of Frankfort and Paige Yund of Wingate; son Ethan Risner of Bloomington; mother Linda Curry of Wingate; three sisters, Laurie (Jim) Churchill of Warsaw, Misiti (Darrell) Kirby of rural Wingate and Pam (Bob) Gremmels of California; brother Chad Risner of Crawfordsville; and seven grandchildren, Chloe, Meadow, Tori, Remi, Kael, Liam and Beau. He is also survived by his dog Ginger, and his rescue cats from Harrison Steel; Lucky, Grayson, Wiskers and Purrl, as well as many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22, with funeral services following at 2 p.m. at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Burial will following in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wingate. The family request guests wear AC/DC shirts.
