Eva Hobbs (Fitzwater) of Mooresville, formerly of Mace, went home to see the Lord on Friday, March 26, 2021. Eva was at Hickory Creek Nursing Home.

Eva was born in Putnam County in a log cabin. She was the daughter of the late William Fitzwater and Charlotte (Bearkley) Fitzwater.

Eva married Earnest Durbin in 1938 and they later divorced in 1972. She then married Woodson (Bud) Hobbs, who passed away in 1980. Then she met Alex Sokol, who was with our family for 15 plus years until he passed in 2010.

Eva and Bud operated a bowling ally in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin for several years.  They moved to Mooresville later and operated the Pioneer Lanes until retirement.

Eva loved playing bingo, going out to eat with friends and of course bowling.  Eva made the best pies you could put in your mouth.

Eva was proceeded in death by her parents and spouses; her brothers Arlie and Leonard; sisters Mary Demoret and Rosie Sparks; daughter Deanna Underwood; son Ronnie Durbin of Mooresville; and daughter-in-law Vickey Durbin of Crawfordsville.

Eva is survived by son, Bill Durbin of Crawfordsville, and daughter Brenda (Jeff) Walters, New Ross, along with seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild.
