Walter “Kevin” Everett will observe his 40th anniversary at LSC Communications on Saturday.

In 1980, Everett started working for RR Donnelley/LSC Communications as a material handler on the Line 6 bindery line which mainly ran Readers Digest condensed books, Time Life books and Funk & Wagnall Encyclopedias, and where he was first promoted to the positions of mail bagger, and onlay machine operator. In 1989, he was promoted to the position of a Journeyman ABMO running the inline end-sheet machine on Line 6.

After being transferred to the Line 10 bindery line in 1998, he was promoted to the position of a Journeyman BMO on the newly installed Line 1 bindery line, where he also advanced his skills in the craft of repairing books. After running multiple pieces of equipment on Line 1, he was reassigned to the Line 7 combo line as a trimmer operator. In 2002, he became a New Employee Training and Apprentice Instructor, as the Bindery’s Subject Matter Expert and in 2003 shared in the RRD Managers Award. In 2009, he was reassigned to the position of the bindery’s Quality Assurance Coordinator. During this time, he helped develop and complete his certification through the National Council for Print Industry Certifications, as a Certified Adhesive Bind Lead Operator. In 2018, he was promoted to his current position of Manufacturing Supervisor in the bindery, and is currently a supervisor in the historical North Plant bindery department.

Everett and his wife Teresa of 37 years are the parents of two sons, Adam (Sherri), with grandchildren Olivia and Lincoln, and Logan (Jessie), with grandchildren Nora and Eden. His grandfather, Lester Everett Sr., was a graduate in the first RRD - Crawfordsville Apprentice Class in 1925, and he has had several other relatives who have been employed by RRD/LSC throughout the years.

He enjoys time being with his wife as empty nesters, spending time with sons’ families and grandchildren, drone photography, playing guitar, writing music, running half marathons, hiking and as most who know him would agree, playing golf.

Everett is affiliated with Rock Point Christian Church, Crawfordsville Country Club and Indiana Golf Association.
