Shows will be live-streamed on 4-H Facebook page

The Montgomery County Fair kicks off today, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, the events are not open to the public.

With access to fairgrounds restricted, the Journal Review is unable to cover shows and other activities in-person. Parents of grand champion winners are being asked to contact the newspaper if they want their child to be featured in a story. Contact the newsroom at 765-362-1200.

Fair staff has agreed to distribute contact information for reporters to the exhibitors. Shows are also being live-streamed on the Montgomery County 4-H Facebook page.

It will be “show-and-go” for livestock exhibitors: Entrants present their animals and leave the fairgrounds immediately after being judged.

The fairgrounds are being cleaned hourly using disinfectant products donated by Acuity Brands Lighting.

No queen contest and overall showmanship presentation will be held this year. The 4-H Dog Show has been moved to September to allow more time for practice.
