Headlining this year’s Crawfordsville Strawberry Festival on its opening night will be local favorite Steven Trent and Small Town.
In making the announcement Thursday, Sean Gerold, entertainment committee chairman, said that Trent is a perfect fit for the Friday night spot.
“He’s a great performer and he has a very strong following,” Georld said. “We always try to feature local entertainers as much as possible.”
While the festival weekend — June 9-11 — is still several months away, various committees are hard at work gearing up for one of the county’s largest annual events. Applications for the arts and crafts and commercial areas are arriving almost daily, along with several for the food court. Applications are available on www.crawfordsvillestrawberryfestival.com.
Since the Strawberry Festival is a total volunteer effort, it wouldn’t be possible without community sponsors and volunteers. There are several different financial levels available and extra help is always welcome.
“It’s a great way to be involved in the community,” said Festival Chairman S. David Long.
