A fire Friday destroyed a vacant home on the city’s far east side.
Crawfordsville Fire Chief Scott Busenbark said fire crews were dispatched at 6:46 p.m. to 2561 E. Traction Road and when firefighters arrived they found the structure completely engulfed in flames.
The 14 CFD firefighters who responded were assisted by personnel from the Darlington and Walnut Township fire departments..
Busenbark said foul play is not suspected.
He added the cause of the fire was due to a burn pile 75 yards from the home combined with windy conditions.
No injuries were reported.
