The Flower Lovers Club met April 7 at St. John’s Church. President Paula Furr opened the meeting. There were 24 members present. Hostesses were Terri Trinkle, Lana Presslor, Denise Ducharme and Diane Fairfield. They provided a wide variety of delicious refreshments.

There was discussion regarding a field trip to Country Corner Greenhouses on April 14.

Jan Hook asked for volunteers to work at Lane Place to rake, weed and prepare flower beds for the upcoming season. This is happening at 10 a.m. April 29.

Terri Trinkle said the bulbs in the downtown pots are coming up. Hopefully, the summer pot plantings should be done by Mother’s Day, if the weather cooperates.

There was discussion on the flags and Flower Lovers Club signs to put in the pots.

April birthdays are Denise Ducharme, Donna Strand and Terri Trinkle.

Ruth Hallett spoke on Monarch butterflies. One of their favorite foods is the milkweed plant. She will have milkweed plants available at the May meeting.

The next meeting will be a brunch on May 5.

Members will be notified of the location, either at the church or Milligan Park. Bring May baskets of live plants to be taken to Wellbrooke.

Members went to Davidson’s Greenhouse to shop and plan their gardens.
