The Nov. 4 meeting was called to order by Karen Cook with 30 members present. A sign up sheet was passed around for 2025 hostesses, as well as, the tip jar.
The Dec. 4 Christmas luncheon will be held at the Crawfordsville Country Club at 11 a.m. Each member planning to attend the luncheon signed up and paid $20. Members were reminded to bring a wrapped gift for the annual Dirty Santa exchange.
Hostesses for the November meeting were Priscilla Zachary, Sandra Lawson, Margie Staten and Trish Schwabe. The table decorations were lovely and Margie Staten made her amazing peanut butter balls. We all look forward to this treat.
The next item of business was voting for the 2025 officers. It was a unanimous vote.
President: Karen Cook; vice president Janet Hook; secretary Mary Lou Dawald; treasurer Nancy Bowes; and historian Kezia Blackwell.
Thank you Karen Cook for your leadership as President for your fifth year despite having to commute from Fishers. You’re awesome Karen.
Many thanks to the 2024 officers: Karen Cook, Denise Ducharme, Janet Linton, Lana Presslor and Carolyn Fisher.
Also a big thank you to Janet Hook who writes the monthly newsletter, Perennially Yours, filled with gardening tips, reminders of club activities and acknowledgement of members’ birthdays.
The business agenda continued with the treasurer’s report by Lana Presslor.
Thanks to Marty Heinhold, Deb Barowsky, and Linda Crispin for finding gardens for Garden Walk 2025 on June 29. Denise Ducharme coordinated committees for the 2025 walk. A liaison is still needed for Janet River’s garden on Jefferson Street. If you would like to volunteer to be the liaison let Denise know. The duties of the liaison include communicating with the garden owner , writing an article about the garden for the Journal and staying at the garden the day of the walk.
Terri Trinkle, Paula Furr and Diane Fairfield are chairing the decorating of the downtown flower pots. We will be cutting greenery at 9 a.m. Nov. 12. Those helping should meet at Paula’s house. The greenery should be picked up that afternoon or the following day at Paula’s house. The Downtown Party Night is Nov. 30 and all Christmas decor should be in the pots by then. The work by the club members is appreciated by everyone. Lana Presslor, Terri Trinkle and Diane Fairfield are in charge of the downtown pots. A new member, Shari Patton, has adopted one of the downtown pots. Thank you, Shari.
The next business meeting will be the first Wednesday in March 2025. Guests are always welcome.
