The recent meeting of the Flower Lovers Garden Club was called to order by President Karen Cook at 11 a.m. June 4 at the Milligan Park shelter. All members provided a potluck of savory and sweet treats. The hostesses were; Jo Anderson, Sharon Barton, Laura Hutson and Meribeth Kussmaul. There were 31 members in attendance and several guests.
President Cook opened the meeting by reminding members of their obligation to buy two tickets for the Garden Tour next month. Karen also reminded the club that July 2 will be the field trip to Newfields and the fee for the museum ($16) needed to be paid today.
Karen invited Denise Ducharme to update the group on the Garden Tour, which is 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 29, rain or shine. Denise informed members that if they wish to have a preview tour of the gardens on Saturday, June 28, they should meet at St. Johns at 4 p.m. and caravan to the gardens. Members who have plants to sell at the plant auction on the day of the tour, should bring their plants to St. Johns at that time too. If for some reason they can’t bring their plants to the church, they can be dropped off at Janet Hook’s house. Lana Presslor will be picking up the Garden Memorial Stones that will be given to each garden owner. Denise reminded each liaison that they are responsible for picking up the ladybug rocks and signs, to be taken to the garden owners.
