Around 70 individuals turned out Tuesday for the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County forum for candidates seeking seats on the Crawfordsville School Board. The forum was conducted at Fusion 54 and moderated by S. David Long, a LWV member.

Candidates Kathy Brown, Robert S. (Bobby) Horton, J. Kent Minnette, J. Monte Thompson and Dawn Watt are seeking to fill one of the three open positions on the board. Brown and Minnette are both incumbents.

Each candidate gave an opening statement. They each then gave their responses to two questions that were provided in advance and one not provided in advance. After a closing statement, the candidates answered several questions from the audience on different topics.

While there was some different approaches to issues, all candidates agreed on the need to provide the best possible education experience for Crawfordsville students.

The forum was broadcast live on the radio and will be replayed at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday on WCVL 92.1FM. It’s also available on WCVL.com and the WCVL app.
