Freetown Village Singers will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday at Wabash Presbyterian Church, 307 S. Washington St.
This concert represents the fourth performance of Concerts on the Corner. Each year the Indianapolis-based Freetown singers bring the dynamic joy and power of music to all ages with performances in schools, churches, nursing homes, and other public venues.
Freetown Village preserves African American traditions and culture through storytelling and song. In a one-hour performance the singers present an interactive collection of traditional folk songs and spirituals. Their mission is to uplift in times of crisis, heal, comfort, inspire, and instill hopes and dreams. Wabash Avenue Church is excited to welcome Freetown and Crawfordsville’s own Second Baptist Church children’s Praise Dance group which will open Freetown’s performance. All are welcome.
The mission of the free Concerts on the Corner is to spread the love of God through the joy of music and as a gift to the community in recognition of Wabash Avenue Church’s 200 years worshiping in and serving Montgomery County. The final concert will feature a jazz performance of The Tad Robinson Band at 3 p.m. Nov. 17.
