Gail Lynne Knowles, 70, of Crawfordsville passed away at 6:37 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, at Mulberry Health & Retirement Center.
She was born in Crawfordsville, the daughter of Delta Mae Clore Owens and the late Irvin Junior Owens. She was a 1970 graduate of Southwestern High School in Tippecanoe County. Her marriage was to Russell E. Knowles at Lafayette on March 20, 1988. He survives.
Gail was self-employed and operated a framing shop from her residence. She was a member of Grace and Mercy Ministries of Crawfordsville.
Surviving with her husband is her mother, Delta Owens of Mulberry; daughter Angela R. (Mark) Jewell of Bakersfield, California; son Eric D. (Lori) Shaw of Lafayette; sister Susan L. Meadows-Hayenga of Lafayette; and four grandchildren, Madyson Shaw, Gabbie Jewell, Daniele Jewell and Bae’lee Jewell. She is also survived by numerous life long friendships that she cherished.
She was preceded in death by brother Daniel S. Owens.
Gail was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 15 and credits her longevity to the care she received from her much-loved endocrinologists Dr. John Poulos and Dr. Shannon Oates.
Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Linden, from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10. Pastor Peg Miller will officiate. The interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery at Romney.
